Why Worry! It Can’t Help You Anyway.


Earlier today I was researching on the Universal Laws of Abundance for my Wednesday podcast and for the lecture I’m giving tomorrow. Looking through my spiritual text and scriptures, I came across this and felt compelled to share, because many of us do exactly this.

Matthew 6:27
Who of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to his lifespan?

Worrying is futile and a waste of your precious time and energy. Worrying sends you into a wash cycle that does not rinse, spin and dry. It just keeps washing and washing and washing. It’s like listening to the same news over and over again. It doesn’t alter the facts or situations. Worrying creates more hurdles and obstacles for you to get over.

Once you experience that initial rush of fear based adrenaline. You know, the OMG PANIC…give yourself time to “get you mind” around the situation and when the panic has subsided and the worry takes hold you can then be proactive. Being proactive will support you in not feeling helpless, which is the underlying cause of worry. Sometimes, you can find excellent solutions for problems if you move your view finder lens away from what you cannot do, to what you can do.

This might help:

Take 3 deep breaths Inhaling slowly and filling your lungs to capacity. Exhale slowly and fully, so all the air leaves your lungs. Tell yourself 3 times, by calling your name, to calm down. “Wendy! Calm down!

Now ask yourself these two questions.

(1) What does it look like for me to correct this situation?

(2) What does the first step in that process look like?

If you can do something to make the situation better, and not worse, then do it.

If you can’t do anything to make the situation better.  Then don’t make it worse for yourself. Do something to help yourself.  Try this.

(3) Hold the vision of the outcome you want to see in your mind.  Use your imagination to see the end result that would make you…not worried.
(4) Focus all your attention on your intention or vision.  Do not focus on the crazy stuff going around your head.  It’s unhelpful.

Your vision may or may not manifest your desired results.  However, I AM a believer that energy flows where your attention goes.   So, whatever is going on in your life at the moment that is creating worry for you, flip the mental script and create an outcome that you want to see.  It can take the edge off!
