I was talking to someone recently and during the conversation, they were speaking about how they disliked, no it was beyond that, it was how they hated this person over here who we’ll call person X.   They spoke passionately, at length and in detail about what’s wrong with person X.  They basically said that the person needs to be dead, because they are taking up valuable space and air.  They then went on to speak about another person who we’ll call person Y.  They spoke of them in warm, glowing compassionate terms.  They went on to say that they know Y is probably worse than X.  But they just couldn’t even stand to look at person X.   This left me feeling a tad baffled.  So, I did what I do best.  I listened.  Then asked a couple of questions for […]

There is a saying that we Londoners have, “sometimes, I just need a good ol’ swear-up”. Or, another saying that we Jamaicans have is, “mi jus haffi cuss tu bad wod”. Given that both are my heritage, both worked well for me in this scenario. I decided to clipper cut my hair. While I can still make magic happen with a pair of shears and a comb, clipper cutting was never really my forte. Yet, this way of thinking will support you to eventually recognize that every obstacle in your way, has been established for you, by you, to set you on the correct pathway. it’s not easy to see new possibilities when you are experiencing mental, emotional, and physical pain. Wanting Someone To Change Won’t Make It Happen

Most don’t realize that the change they are wanting to see in that person must start with themselves.  Or put another way, the change you want to see must first start with you.  And yes, I can hear you saying, “Wait!  What!  I’m not the one with the problem.”  Okay, I’ll bite.  You don’t have the behavioral issue, but you do have a problem with “their” behavior.  This is what I call understanding the nuances of life.
