More than anything else in this world, self-doubt has killed more dreams, more people, more prayers, more careers, more wellness and wellbeing, more relationships, more first steps, more you fill in the blank.
Self-doubt will always undermine and topple anything that you are trying to achieve. And please, do not confuse self-doubt with the expansion of a concept that you’ve already finalized. A concept that you want to evolve into something new, but you are unsure as to what that looks like to you. That is not self-doubt. That is not knowing. Understand the nuance here.
Attractioners, you know I’m into food, so I am going to use the construct of a recipe to elaborate on today’s meme. You have a basic recipe, and you want to explore taking it in a different direction, or to another level. So, you go within, and tap into your conscious and subconscious mind. You ask yourself, “I wonder if I could add tarragon and or pineapple mint (FYI, that is a delicious herb) to my basic recipe? Will it create the culinary masterpiece I’m experiencing in my mind?
To first achieve culinary ideation or conceptualize the development of a new recipe within your imagination, start by consciously engaging and switching on both your olfactory and gustatory systems. Without taking this step you will not be able to achieve your desired goal. You’ll need to engage your auditory, sensory, and visual systems too. Using memory recall comes into play to put the ingredients or elements together in the right proportions to create your culinary masterpiece.
Once you’ve completed your brainstorming and developed your imaginary recipe, you’ll literally be able to taste it, see it, smell it, feel it and hear it. You can then, get them pots and pans rattling and cook up the creation of your new recipe in it’s physical form.
Having an expansive thought process with the intention of building on it, knowing that without a shadow of a doubt the new recipe construct will work, isn’t self-doubt. That. Is. Self-confidence. That’s being fearless. That is choosing to follow your desire. That’s clarity of mind. That is knowing what you are wanting. That is your belief in self, despite your current circumstances. It’s sending a message to God, The Universal Creator, the Divine or your chosen Deity that you are ready for your manifestation or blessings. The recipe scenario can be applied to all facets of your life.
Self-doubt is the total antithesis of everything you’ve just read in the last paragraph. Self-doubt is lack of confidence in your desired outcome. Self-doubt is choosing to be hindered by limiting beliefs and outmoded learnt behaviors. It’s giving self-permission to allow your current circumstance to overrule your desired outcome. Self-doubt is allowing fear of the unknown to negate any step forward that you may need to take.
Self-doubt is the belief that you cannot manifest the things that you want. Even though you asked the Universal Creator, God or your chosen Deity, your belief is that you are not worthy of having it. This is what self-doubt brings into your life. It’s a thief that will steal your life from you…if you let it.
Because what you are wanting for yourself may seem unattainable, do not allow self-doubt to make that feeling a reality. You know what your end result is. Hold firm to your manifested intention.
Now, focus your attention on small bites, instead of the entire thing. Ask yourself these intrinsic based questions; what does it look like, feel like, sound like, taste like or even smell like to take your first step on the road to manifesting your intention?
Blessings,
Dr. Wendy
