Is what you are doing in life your passion?  Or is what you’re doing how you make money? The distinction between the two is important. There is a huge difference between the two.  And I can hear you asking, “But, can’t it be both?”  Actually, no, it can’t.  Many would disagree and disagree venomously, yet the Universal Law of Space clearly states that no two things can occupy the same space”at the same time.”  Many people have missed out on living their dream life because they have chosen not to pursue their passion.  “Get a real job,” they say. ”And do your passion on the side, you know, because artists starve and people of that ilk live a hand to mouth existence.”  So, where does that leave you in your understanding of what’s at stake and wanting to pursue your passion?

Millions, that’s right, millions of people worldwide are on a daily basis are currently working to make money in jobs they are not even remotely passionate about.  Oh don’t get me wrong they are very, very, very good at what they do, so they do it.  But they are not passionate about it.  I come from an era where we have been groomed by societal dictates, which are governed and heavily influenced by trade and commerce to be educated to take our place in the world as a cog within that moving machine.  There is no real room for passion…outside the box, that is.

Somewhere along the line we have been sold and willingly purchased a bill of goods that states, “get a job and let your passion be your hobby!”  We’ve been told in no uncertain terms that certain things that people are passionate about will not earn them enough to purchase a crust of bread, let alone water.  In short you can’t make a living from what you are passionate about.  You won’t be able to keep body and soul together.

However, life has taught me that this is not true. And if you have purchased this bill of goods you need to get a refund, so you can use your spiritual currency on developing the field that you are passionate about.  Who made the rule that artists are always poor and half-starved?  Or that musicians live from hand to mouth or if you flip burgers you’ll never be rich you’ll be living from pay check to pay check.  Well, tell that to a MacDonald’s franchisees who own two or three million dollar stores.

Many spiritual texts including the Bible state, “follow your heart in all things and all things will be given unto you”… Matthew 6:21 “for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”  These words of wisdom clearly state if you follow your passion, not only money, but all other things that bring enrichment to your life will be added unto you.

How many of you are currently working at a job that you are good at, but not passionate about.  A job that pays the bills and affords a certain life style?  How many of you are in relationships, intimate, familial, platonic or otherwise that you are not passionate about?  Are you passionate about you, your life and living it?

The word passion speaks to the compelling power of the feeling or feelings that you have toward people, places and things in your life. As a choice and Laws of Attraction expert, I tell people that they need to be living, working and breathing at their passion.  The two answers that I get without fail on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis:

  1. I don’t know what I’m passionate about.
  2. D, you don’t understand. The thing I’m passionate about won’t pay my bills.

Let’s explore answer 1:

  • Saying that you don’t know what you are passionate about shifts the blame away from you for the less than satisfactory life that you are currently living…and places the blame squarely on the shoulders of God knows who or where.  The irony here is, you can only live your life based upon the choices that YOU make.  Do you know it’s impossible for you to live otherwise?  Saying you don’t know what you are passionate about is a choice.  So is floating through life and living the lifestyle that you have chosen for yourself.  Yet, as you live your chosen lifestyle, you’re constantly aware of an undertow which is filled with dissatisfaction for your life that is sadly lacking passion in all that you do.   Just so we are all on the same page, If you are not passionate about certain areas in your life your career, relationships, health, wealth etc. you don’t get a hall pass or a get out of jail free card.  Every area of your life is impacted.

Now let’s review answer 2

  • “The thing I’m passionate about won’t pay my bills.”  Umm!  Then I have a question that I want you to ask yourself.  And it’s simply this, “how do I know that I won’t be able to pay my bills working at my passion?”  For every answer, every reason you give, ask yourself that question.  I guarantee that once you’ve gone through every excuse and they are excuses, every hurdle you will come to the point where you will HAVE to say, “I don’t know!”  The reality is unless you have tried it already, you don’t know!  And that my fellow Attractioners is a fact.  You can’t use someone else’s life experience and make it your own.  Once again, two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
