Blog: How Do I Start Getting My Life On Track?

From health to wealth to relationships, spirituality and careers people are always asking this question, “How do I start getting my life on track or how do I start getting my life in order?”  You fill in the blank…on track or in order; it’s all much of a muchness.

Where to begin is a struggle that many people face daily and as a result they wind up doing nothing.  It’s a kinda stress out paralysis that gathers momentum because now they have added to the fact that they don’t know what to do to get on track with their lives.  They wind up in a wash that is doomed to go nowhere except around and around and around.

By asking the question “how” indicates to the brain that it must rack itself to produce an answer.  And when it can’t produce a viable solution it must rack itself once more until mental fatigue sets in a sort of self-induced paralysis and nothing gets done.

There are a couple of things that I want you to bear in mind when getting your life on track

  1. Start where you are at.

This might sound like a no-brainer, but many people feel that they have to create some sort of foundation to build on or spring- board to jump from, before they can even begin to think about moving forward.  The foundation or spring-board is ‘now’ or as I am always saying “where you are at.”  Start where you find yourself in this moment.  You don’t have to add anything or take anything away.  Where you find yourself in this moment is the perfect place for you to start.

  1. Instead of asking “how?” change your internal dialog and ask the question, “what does it look like or feel like to get my life on track?”

By asking what does it look like or feel like or even sound like, you stop trying to rack your brain to produce a solution from past experiences that have no relevance and consciously turn inward tapping into your imagination and intuition for the perfect answer.

  1. Paint yourself a mental picture of what the first three steps you need to take look like, feel like or sound like.

By painting yourself a mental picture you create a road map that is customized and personalized to your makeup.  In other words, it’s not a one size fits all solution.  It’s your very own creative answer to your question.  It’s tailored to fit your situation perfectly because the solution has been designed by you for you.
